United Financial CU offers financial literacy program to area schools
CHESANING – United Financial Credit Union is now working with Banzai, a national financial literacy program, to offer curriculum to Chesaning teachers and students free of charge.
Banzai is an interactive online program supplemented by printed workbooks which aligns with state curriculum requirements for personal finance education. It presents students with real-life scenarios in which they learn to pay bills, balance a budget and manage unexpected expenses.
“A lot of students leave school and they’re just not ready for the financial roller coasters life hands out,” said Morgan Vandagriff, co-founder of Banzai, “We’re excited to work with United Financial to help remedy that.”
In 2010 the Institute for Financial Literacy awarded Banzai the Curriculum of the Year award. It services more than 5,000 schools in all 50 states.
